Process

There are six phases within the webquest to guide students.  They will ultimately complete the following steps:

  1. Each student should review STD concisely (250 words),
  2. Each student should focus himself on one specific type of STD to review the disease and propose ways to prevent and/ or treat the specific disease,
  3. Students should divide themselves into groups consisting of three members, comprising different roles of a patient, a specialist, and a scientist. Effective group work is very essential.
  4. Once roles are chosen, they will begin research on the websites provided.  They will need some guidance as they do this to be sure they are not getting lost in the various websites.  They will browse useful information on STD, its types, and ways to prevent or treat STD.
  5. After  students have analyzed their information, they will begin to plan a creative presentation. They will have 3 finished products: (1) a movie presentation, (2) a mind/concept map presentation and (3) a poster.
  6. Study about how people nowadays react to infected people,
  7. Write a conclusion about what you have learnt to be posted in the school's magazine.
